SANJAY GANDHI NIRADHAR YOJNA BRANCH
INTRODUCTION
This
Branch is headed by Tahsildar (S.G.Y.) and he is also a D.D.O. of the
Branch. R.D.C. is Officer in charge
& District Collector, Akola is Controlling Officer of the Branch.
This
Section mainly concerned with implementation of various Welfare Schemes for
destitute persons & weaker sections of society. These Schemes are sponsored
by Government of India as well as Government of Maharashtra. This Branch is responsible for successful
implementation of following Welfare Schemes.

SANJAY
GANDHI NIRADHAR GRANT SCHEME
With View to provide suitable
financial assistance to destitute persons and physically handicapped persons
living in the State of Maharashtra, the Govt. of Maharashtra has started
"Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Grant Scheme," on 2nd October, 1980. Under
this scheme financial assistance on monthly basis is being provided to
destitute as well as handicapped persons.
Categories
of Beneficiaries
The following type of
persons who are inhabitants of State of Maharashtra since 15 years and who are
not resident of any Govt., Financial Institute or Authority Aided Institute or
home are eligible for benefits of the Scheme.
(1)
Blind, Handicapped, Patient suffering from T.B./
Paralysis/ Brain Hemorrhage/ Cancer/Aids persons (men & women) below the
age of 65 years who are not able to earn livelihood themselves
(2)
Economically destitute widows.
Benefits
Rs. 250/- p.m. financial assistance
per head is provided on quarterly basis to the beneficiaries. In case of
economically destitute widows for two family members aid of Rs. 500/- p.m. and
for more than two family members aid of Rs. 625/- p.m. is provided under the scheme.
How
to apply
a)
The Applicant has to apply in prescribed
Application Form (in two copies) to Naib Tahsildar (S.G.Y.) of the concerned
Tahsil Office. In case of Akola Municipal Corporation limits application should
be submitted to Tahsildar (S.G.Y.) in Collector Office, Akola.
Attachments
b) Income Certificate signed by concerned
Talathi & Revenue Inspector, Proof of Residence, Proof of Age, Two copies
of family photograph, Affidavit declaring non residence of any Govt., Financial
Institute or Authority Aided Institute or home, Birth Certificate of Children,
Husband's Death Certificate etc.
Important
Note :-
This
scheme covers destitute person who are living Below Poverty Line (B.P.L.)
Generally, person who has children less than 18 years age are entitled for the
benefit of the scheme. But in view to
extend benefits to needy person the govt. of Maharashtra vide G.R. dated 14th
January, 2004 made provision that persons who have children more than 18 years'
of age but if they are not employed or
not able to get sufficient earning, the total income of family remains below
poverty line specification, such person is entitled to the benefits of the
scheme. But in such case the major
child has to submit affidavit declaring his income , which must be less than the norms.
Indira
Gandhi Niradhar Old, Landless, Destitute women
farm labour Scheme
With view to provide financial
assistance to Old Age Landless Destitute women farm labour living in State Of
Maharashtra, the Govt. of Maharashtra has started this scheme on 19th November,
1991. Under this scheme financial assistance on monthly basis is being provided
to Old Age Landless Destitute Women Farm Labour.
Categories
of Beneficiaries
The following type of
persons who are inhabitants of State of Maharashtra since 15 years and who are
not resident of any Govt., Financial Institute or Authority Aided Institute or
home are eligible for benefits of the Scheme.
Landless farm labour women, Destitute
widows, Divorcee, women in divorce process, physically harassed or rape victim,
wives of prisoners who are family head, liberated prostitutes, Orphaned girls
etc. eligible for the benefits of the scheme.
Benefits
Rs. 250/- p.m. financial assistance
per head is provided on quarterly basis to the beneficiaries. In case of two
family members aid of Rs. 500/- p.m. and for more than two family members aid
of Rs. 625/- p.m. is being provided under the scheme.

Ward Officer of Municipal Corporation etc.

SHRAWAN
BAL SEWA SCHEME /NATIONAL OLD AGE PENSION SCHEME
With view to provide financial
assistance to Old Age Destitute Men & Women living in State Of Maharashtra
since 15 years, the Govt. of Maharashtra has started this scheme collaboration
with Govt. Of India on 15th August,1995. Under this scheme financial assistance
on monthly basis is being provided to Old Age Destitute Men & Women. The
State Government bear Rs. 175/- p.m. and
the Govt. of India provides Rs. 75/- p.m. under this scheme. Thus the
beneficiary gets Rs. 250/- p.m. quarterly.
Categories
of Beneficiaries
The following type of
persons who are inhabitants of State of Maharashtra since 15 years and who are
not resident of any Govt., Financial Institute or Authority Aided Institute or
home are eligible for benefits of the Scheme.
Old Men & Women with age more 65
years are eligible for the benefits of the scheme.
How
to apply
The Applicant has to apply in
prescribed Application Form (in two copies) to Naib Tahsildar (S.G.Y.) of the
concerned Tahsil Office. In case of Akola Municipal Corporation limits
application should be submitted to Tahsildar(S.G.Y.) in Collector Office,

National
Family Benefit Scheme (NFBS)
With view to provide Financial Aid to
the B.P.L. family in unfortunate
incident of death (Natural or Accidental) of head of the family. This scheme is hundred percent sponsored by
Govt. of India. Scheme started on 15th August,1995. Under this scheme Financial
Aid of Rs. 10,000/- is being provided on one time basis. The beneficiary must have B.P.L. Card issued
by Rural Development Department or Urban Development.
How
to apply
b)
The Applicant has to apply in
prescribed Application Form (in two copies) to the Tahsildar of the concerned
Tahsil Office. In case of Akola Municipal Corporation limits application should
be submitted to Tahsildar(S.G.Y.) in Collector Office, Akola. Application form
submitted within one year from the
death of head of family .
National
Maternity Benefit Scheme (NMBS)
With view to provide Financial
Assistance to the pregnant women living in
B.P.L. families, for the sake of safe delivery. This scheme is hundred
percent sponsored by Govt. of India. Scheme started on 15th August, 1995. Under
this scheme Financial Aid of Rs. 500/- is provided per delivery upto first 2
living children. This assistance is provided 8-12 week before delivery
date.
How
to apply
The
Applicant has to apply in prescribed Application Form (in two copies) to
Primary Health Center/Public Health Center with recommendation letter of concerned Talathi,
Gramsevak,Panchayat Samitee, Municipal Council/ Corporation, Zilla
Parished,Women & Child Development Deptt.. Primary Health Centre/Public
Health Centre forwards this Application with recommendation ,after due
verification, to the concerned Tahsildar of the concerned Tahsil Office. In case
of Akola Municipal Corporation limits application should be forwarded to
Tahsildar(S.G.Y.) in Collector Office, Akola.
