In the year 1979, for implementing Legal Aid prgramme for providing the Legal Aid Services to the weaker section of community in the state.  " The Maharashtra Legal Aid and Board " scheme was constituted  vide Government of Maharashtra Resulation No. DFS, 1076/976/(525)/-X, dated 14.02.1977.

          The above scheme was well developed in the State and gives better advantage to the weaker section peoples in the State.

          The Government has sanctioned grants for its better development in all people in Maharashtra.

          So many of the people of weaker section in the community taken advantage of the said scheme.

          The said scheme is well developed in this District with the corporation of Judges, Retired  Judges, Advocates, Social workers and they have given full corporation.

          Accordingly into consideration by the Government.  The Government has revised the said scheme  on National State and District level.

          The implementation of scheme constituted in this District as per the Rules and Regulations made in this behalf of the Government / Honourable High Court contained in the book let, namely Legal Services Authority Act 1987, Act no. 39 of 1987.

          Maharashtra Service Legal Authority has given Legal Aid to the weaker Sections comunity free of cost  i.e. on  the costs of Government.

          The Maharashtra Service Legal Authority has orgnised the programme for benifit of people, such as Services, Lok Adalats at District and Taluka and at Village and more people are taken more advantage of the same.  The people are do agree for such programmes.

          The Social workers, other highers catagories have given more response for organization of programms of Lok Adalat, Seminors etc.

          As such it to be noted here  that the scheme adopted by the Government is better and important for all the people.  The said scheme be continued for settlement of their disputes which were remained to be settled long back, such dispute are Civil, Criminal, maintenance and others.

          Maharashtra Legal Service  Committee,     Akola was established on the 1st July, 2000.   The following matters are settled in Lok Adalat.
